For the complete renovation of this 1960s apartment, the owners wanted to bring new life to the place and adjust it to their routine – they are a family of food enthusiasts who love having friends around. Besides replacing outdated plumbing and electricity, we redesigned the finishes as well as the flow and functionality of the apartment. The kitchen, where the family usually gathers, is now larger and became the focal point of the whole layout. For the hallways, we created the sense of an increased ceiling height and opted for an overall cleaner space. We also brought natural lighting to rooms where originally there was none. For the finishes, we selected few materials, in line with the aesthetic pursued by our firm. Different textures and rustic materials were incorporated into the simple lines of our design, bringing to life the tropical minimalism we cherish.
