In order to cater to the needs of the owners, this older apartment necessitated a comprehensive renovation. Besides the finishes, we needed to completely redo all the plumbing and electric. Because the family loves entertaining guests, we chose to integrate the rooms, creating a flowy layout that would allow different uses in moments of celebration. The apartment now has a gourmet area with a barbecue grill and an island countertop, and a DJ mixer occupies the living room. We decided to use few materials, all of them in white, gray and wood tones, bringing lightness and simplicity to the interior design. Standing out against the neutral architectural box, we have pieces of Brazilian design furniture. On the walls, pieces of contemporary art the apartment owners collect. The old apartment, which was dimly lit and quite fragmented, became a spacious residence, filled with light and with an art gallery feel.
